One of the main objectives of the new health care reform law (the "Affordable Care Act") is universal coverage. The Act contains several provisions to achieve this goal, one of which is a new tax credit that will help small employers, including tax-exempt organizations, afford the cost of providing health insurance to their employees.
Many church leaders want clarity on what this provision means for their churches. In this special download edition of Church Finance Today, attorney and CPA Richard Hammar clearly explains how the Small Business Health Care Tax Credit for Small Employers works and how churches might qualify. Small employers can claim the credit for 2010 through 2013 and for any two years after that, making this a helpful resource for several years to come.
